Practice / Making

My design practice is grounded in sustainability and spatial research. I work across scales and formats—from conceptual studies and spatial installations to built projects and strategic design processes.

Since founding my office in 2010 I have worked in over 50 architectural projects, see below for six selected projects or check the full reference list, including published, awarded and exhibited projects. I have a FISE certificate V+ (Demanding Plus) as Principal Designer in New construction.

My practice is informed by an interest in how architectural thinking can address ecological challenges and support more resilient ways of inhabiting the world. I collaborate widely with multidisciplinary partners, integrating insights from research and education into practical, situated design work.

My work is heavily context influenced in it´s architectural vocabulary and material choices. Many projects are suburban fill-in projects, such as house M-M, house V, house P or house F. Materialwise many projects employ timber as frame and cladding like house A (logs), house J (industrial logs), house F (cross-laminated timber) or cabin R (standard frame). As you probably know sauna is an ancient Finnish tradition which I honor and keep on developing through such projects as sauna V, sauna C and sauna S.
